About

Lisa Anzelmo

Yogi

Lisa Anzelmo is a New Orleans transplant and New York City-based yogi. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from Tulane University, she moved from the Big Easy to the Big Apple to pursue her first passion, acting. As a way to combat and complement the physical and mental demands that come with NYC living, Lisa began practicing yoga in 2000 and is still an actively practicing student.

After becoming a personal trainer, she received her RYT 200-hr certification in 2007. She also completed a 100-hr Ashtanga training with Scott Harig at Pure Yoga, a 20-hr Yoga Nidra and Restorative training with Mona Anand at Ishta Yoga, and a 25-hr Yoga for Labor and Delivery taught by Mary Barnes at Pure Yoga. Lisa’s classes focus on intuitive flows, proper alignment and attention to the breath, complete with a fun playlist and cheesy jokes thrown in for good measure! It is her hope to spark a desire in her students to challenge themselves by safely going further and making their practice that much “brighter.”

An advanced yogi, accomplished singer, and (used to be) avid runner, Lisa has a penchant for traveling and exploring all that this world has to offer. A foreign language buff, she can say “I love you” in 41 different languages! These days Lisa stays a little closer to her home with her husband and two spunky daughters, but she still spreads all the love she can…
